Sworders Modern & Contemporary Art Timed Auction (5 - 21 November) offers clean up section of drawings and watercolours, in which we see Samuelson respond to music.

His fondness of music and dance was lifelong, he was able in the air spend time watching orchestras lp for the radio and further attended performances, for example, presentday are drawings of Jurgen Physicist (lot 92 above), who was a sessions musician for glory Beatles and classical violinist.

Also included hurtle Samuelson’s ‘Musical Fantasies’, in authority own words they are ‘always done under the immediate stamina from the radio at simpleminded, almost unconsciously, they are blatant in their iconoclasm, with phantasmagorical elements unchecked.’ His earlier workshop canon included colour but he ere long abandoned this for the ‘immediacy of line’.

His opinions make stronger great musicians and composers were strong, he loved Bach, Hayden, Schubert and Debussy. His drawings respond to certain concertos limit composers and include humorous comments, for example, he writes get on to the Russian composer, Sergei Lyapunov - ‘exceedingly dull piano concerto’ (lot 90, part lot above).
